Who we are

Centigen is a Gloucestershire-based facilities management company, providing invaluable services such as grounds and building maintenance and commercial cleaning to clients across the South West.

We are a subsidiary of Two Rivers Housing – a charity which provides homes for low-cost rent and supports activities and amenities across communities.  All surplus income generated by Centigen is gifted back to Two Rivers, allowing staff to continue their work for the benefit of future generations.

As a social enterprise business we combine the best of the private and charitable sectors: a commercial drive for quality, value, efficiency and customer satisfaction, with strong ethics, caring values and financial security.

Values & culture

As a social enterprise and subsidiary of a highly respected charity, we have a commercial drive for customer service, professional excellence, flexibility and price scrutiny that mixes with the strongest elements of our public service foundations.

We care about what we do because the profit we gift to Two Rivers Housing to invest in homes and communities, has the power to change people’s lives.

We are based in BREEAM ‘Excellent’ offices, use chemicals that won’t harm the environment and recycle whenever we can, including converting green waste into bio-gas and compost.

Two Rivers Housing

Demand for affordable homes seriously outstrips supply, and the problem is even more acute in rural areas. People often find themselves increasingly priced out of the opportunity to buy, and become more dependent upon renting.

This is where Two Rivers Housing comes in - a Gloucestershire housing association established in 2003 when it took on the properties previously owned and managed by Forest of Dean District Council.

Since then it has invested heavily in improving existing homes and building hundreds of new ones for rent and Shared Ownership. The investment continues, with a pledge to build at least 100 new homes every year for the next decade.

Two Rivers also takes its wider social responsibilities very seriously by investing in community initiatives that bring neighbourhoods together, and promoting sustainability and energy-efficiency through its own building and maintenance programme.

The majority of Two Rivers’ income comes from rent payments, topped up by Government grants. However, reduced central funding means there is less money available to improve existing housing stock and build new homes to meet growing demand.

Centigen Facilities Management was created to provide quality, professional facilities management services, based on sound and ethical principles, to generate additional funds that would allow Two Rivers to continue providing homes for those who need them, into the future.
